Spreading its great, membrane-covered wings, the creature, once a brilliant physician and explorer, splays its great lethal beak-shaped jaw, exposing its razor-sharp fangs, as it soars over the rubble of the gardens of devastated Mansion X, the home of his enemies, the X-Men. A prehistoric nightmare that Iron Studios presents in the form of the statue of the terrible “Sauron – X-Men – BDS Art Scale 1/10 – Exclusive”, the hybrid dinosaur that seeks to absorb the vital energy of meta-humans to survive and expand his powers.
In the past, the Argentine Dr. Karl Lykos, a brilliant physician, hypnotherapist, and skilled psychiatrist, during an expedition with his father to Tierra del Fuego, near the Antarctic Circle, was attacked by Pteranodons, giant winged dinosaurs and natives of the so-called “Earth Savage”, a refuge lost in time hidden in Antarctica, where prehistoric creatures that are extinct in the rest of the planet still live. The injuries inflicted on Lykos changed his genetic structure, transforming him into a type of energy vampire, who needed to drain the vital energy of other living beings to survive. For years he hid this condition until he drained the energy of a superhuman mutant, which triggered his metamorphosis into a humanoid Pteranodon creature, adopting the name Sauron.
Created by writer Roy Thomas, and artist Neal Adams in 1969, Sauron possesses a powerful hypnotic ability that requires direct eye contact to complete, and by draining a mutant’s strength, he temporarily gains a share of its powers. In addition to flying, Sauron possesses superhuman strength, speed, intelligence, endurance, and durability. He can even expel life force energy in concussive bursts from his hands and has gained the added ability to breathe fire. Such powers make him one of the most dangerous and lethal mutant villains, the rival of the heroes, and students of Prof. Xavier.
Another new statue from Iron Studios, Sauron further expands the cast of characters that are part of the diorama scenario of the X-Men versus the giant Sentinel robots manipulated by Magneto, alongside a horde of mutant villains attacking and destroying Mansion X.
