CCXP Exclusive – dc comics serie 7 – Art Scale 1/10
On one side, on a base with a coat of arms logo symbolizing his name that represents his watery powers, the pointy-eared young hero extends his left fist to his twin sister, who on the other side, also with a similar base, steps on a wild terrain that emulates its animalistic transformations. Accompanied by her simian mascot over her left shoulder, she returns the gesture so that both their powers are activated. Iron Studios “The Wonder Twins – Deluxe DC Comics Series 7 – Art Scale 1/10” statues feature brothers Zan and Jayna from the planet Exxor, and their pet monkey Gleek, apprentices in training for Justice League superheroes, inspired by the classic animated series Super Friends.
Created by Norman Maurer, Super Friends series developer and story editor, The Wonder Twins made their debut in 1977 animation The All-New Super Friends Hour, produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios. With transmutation powers, Zan can transform into any form of water, in any state (solid, liquid, or gas), and increase his mass by incorporating water in his proximity. Jayna can transform into any animal, whether real, mythological, Earth native, or from another planet like Exxor, but this only happens through physical contact with her brother, when they usually touch each other with their fists and say the phrase “Wonder Twin powers, activate!”, followed by the description of the form each wants to take. When the twins are separated, they are unable to activate their powers.
The characters’ success and popularity in Hanna-Barbera animations enabled their introduction into the mainstream DC Comics universe in the 1990s, as well as their appearance in other media such as the Teen Titans Go! and the TV series Smallville. Diversifying the collection of statues from DC Comics characters, Iron Studios presents the classic pair of young heroes, accompanied by Gleek, a super-intelligent blue alien ape, who often, this clumsy Super-Twins pet helps the brothers in their mission.
